3 people wounded in shooting after argument at Sherman Oaks bar

Two men and a woman were shot after an argument at a Sherman Oaks sports bar early Sunday morning, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.

Police responded to reports of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. at the bar in the 13600 block of Ventura Boulevard.

The shooting came after three people became involved an argument with someone.

Two men in their 20s and a woman, around 30 years old, ended up suffering gunshot wounds, according to police. They were all taken to hospitals in stable conditions, including one of the victims who was taken to the hospital by a friend.

It’s unclear who opened fire at the bar. The gunman was described only as being male.

LAPD initially said they had a suspect in custody, but officials later told KTLA that one person was detained for questioning then later released.

Video from the scene after the shooting showed a large crowd gathered outside The Woodman Bar as officers investigated. The area surrounding the business was seen cordoned off with police tape.

Hours later around 8 a.m., the crowd was gone but shattered glass, face masks and rose petals littered the street outside the bar.

Bars in Los Angeles County are now allowed to operate later because officials on Friday removed pandemic-related restrictions on hours of operation.

The case remains under investigation and no further details were immediately available.
